In the 1970s, 1980s and 1990s, the facades of many high-rise buildings – mainly office and administrative buildings, but also apartments in some cases – were constructed with post-and-beam structures made of aluminum. Insulated profiles did not exist at that time, so that the heat losses of such facades are usually extremely high. In addition, many facades leak after several decades and would actually have to be completely replaced. Aluthermic has developed a system with which such facades can be renovated efficiently and economically without the users having to leave the building
