BOAGAZ: Flexible corrugated stainless-steel pipe systems for indoor gas installations

The idea for flexible gas pipes was born in Japan in the 1980s. The challenge there was to make gas pipelines more earthquake-resistant. Rigid pipelines often broke even during minor earthquakes. The solution was found in so-called PLT (pliable tubing) pipes made of stainless steel, which can absorb vibrations up to a certain level. The stainless-steel corrugated tubes are safe and economical because installation is much faster than with the cumbersome soldering of rigid copper lines.
